Farewell, My Jackass
On this very gloomy morning, I left my house thinking it might be the last time I saw Jackass. A tow truck was scheduled to come pick him up either today or Monday to take him wherever American Cancer Society vehicle donations go. He's still here (Friday evening). Maybe Monday.
Jackass was my first brand new car. The first night I had him, I kept looking out my bedroom window to make sure no one had stolen him from the driveway. He didn’t have any fancy keyless entry alarm system. Just your good ‘ole fashioned “Club”; a heavy duty one for SUV’s and trucks. Very shortly afterwards, I bought a CD player and alarm system and had them installed. Jackass only came with a tape player. Even though this was 12 years ago, who had a tape player in their car anymore? OK. Freddy did until recently.
Anyway, it’s nice to have a vehicle where everything works. I’m glad I can clean my windshield and have the washer fluid come out of both squirters (especially the driver’s side!). The rear wiper doesn’t get stuck on the back window. The backseat doors open. The locks unlock. I can open the front passenger window from the driver’s controls. What’s not to like? If only it didn’t smell like men’s cologne mixed with hair oil. I can’t wait for the weather to be warmer so I can roll the windows down, Fabreeze the heck out of the upholstery and let it air out! I am thankful it doesn’t smell like B.O. or worse -- like that Seinfeld episode where the valet guy funks up Jerry’s car. That would suck.
I still haven’t completed the final vacation task (putting up the rest of the pics) I promised weeks ago. We’ve been busy shoveling snow and stuff! This weekend, we’re looking forward to the Terps ending their regular season with another win. There have been some awesome games this past week, huh? Have a great weekend!
