All I Can Muster
My goodness it's been hard getting reacquainted with my old PC! I've been loading up all the software John's PC and my work PC have (picture editing, iTunes, etc...). Anyway, lots has happened since the Internet Big Brother came into my life at work and since Blogger has been a little bit cooperative tonight, maybe I'll be able to give you a quick run-down on recent happenings.
Thursday, Oct 26th: My mom, dad and I went to dinner to celebrate my mom's birthday at Pearl in Wheaton. It was a chic Mediterranean-style seafood place. Maybe I'll get a chance to blog about it soon over at the Baked Beanz.

Saturday, Oct 28th: We celebrated my mom's birthday again, but this time with my brother and his family too. My bro and his family were also celebrating my very belated 40th. We had an early dinner at Cesco in Bethesda. It was fabulous! More about this joint later...
Here's my mom and dad:

After dinner, John and I changed into our costumes (he was a Nerd, I was a Fashion Tragedy) and headed to the Halloween party of the year, hosted by Bianca and Jay. Jay and B were the Croc Hunter and his wife:
Ghoulies Michelle and Joey:
Flava Flav Jake:
Go check out the Moreno Family Site for more pics!
Sometime Last Week: Bianca sent me a recipe for a steak marinade that called for one CUP of Scotch Whiskey. I was only marinating one steak for me and John and only had one of those little bottles of Dewar's in the liquor cabinet, so I made due with what was on hand.

Boy was this YUMMY! It was a little sweet 'cuz I didn't have any soy sauce. I know, I know... What kind of Asian chick doesn't have soy sauce on hand???? I used a bit of Teriyaki sauce instead, which is sweet. Oh well. I promise to make this again, Bianca! With the correct ingredients! Thanks again for the recipe! I'll share this one too once I get a chance!
Thursday, Nov 2nd: Jackass hits 200,000 miles! WOOT!

Saturday, Nov 4th: John and I met up with the guys to watch the Maryland/Clemson game at Caddies. It was a really tense game, but a fabulous win for the Terps!

Sunday, Nov 5th: John and his bro Mike's friend, Kevin, got some tickets for the Ravens game through his company. Their friend, Jay, couldn't make it, so I got to go instead. This ticket included a pass to Bud Light's Backyard Bash tent, which had food catered by Ruth's Chris and two free drinks. Once in our seats, a Ravens rep (?) came up and passed out free hats, little radios, and $10 Ravens Bucks, good for food at the concession stands (no beer though). Here's the view from our seats:
It was an awesome time and a good game. I've never seen so much purple in my life! Do 'Skins fans wear burgundy and gold camo pants??? I think half the Ravens fans had purple and black camo pants. The stadium was LOUD too! I should have borrowed some of Freddy's green foamy ear plugs.
Well, that's what's been going on -- in a nutshell. It was actually much more fun and exciting than this. Hopefully, I'll be able to catch up the foodie blog soon. Lots of stuff to tell over there! Till then, have a good one!
p.s. If anyone has any hints on how to stop my double-spacing from being like quadruple spacing via HTML, please let me know how!
